History
Elite Consulting SAC-ELITEMIN began operations in 2006 by offering open training courses for the mining sector, notably in areas such as mining costs, acid water treatment, environmental impact studies, hydrogeology, geomechanics, and software application.
Since 2011, legal issues regarding mining, regulations concerning surface land, and mining formalization have been addressed.
Since 2007, international conferences on mine closure planning, tailings dams, and mine ventilation have been held periodically.
The Tunnel Mining Congress
The first Tunnel Mining Congress (focused on tunnels and underground works) was held in 2009 at the Ministry of Energy and Mines auditorium, chaired by Engineer Rómulo Mucho. The second and third editions took place in 2013 and 2014 at the Belmond Park Hotel in Miraflores, Lima, achieving great success.
Between 2015 and 2019, the Tunnel Mining Congress was held at the Hotel Sol de Oro, also located in the Miraflores district.
The event continued in a virtual format during 2020 and 2021; in 2022, the Tunnel Mining Congress returned to an entirely in-person format at the Lima Convention Center in San Borja, though mask-wearing was still required.
From 2023 to the present, the Congress has been held at the Hotel Sol de Oro, marking its most successful period.
The 2025 Tunnel Mining Congress was chaired by Raúl Benavides, Director of Compañía de Minas Buenaventura, while the 2026 edition is chaired by Juan José Herrera, General Manager of Compañía Minera Colquisiri.
Tunnel Mining 2027 is gearing up to feature richer content and improved dynamics.
